I have been designing and building residential structures for over 35 years.
Previous to becoming a Home Inspector in 2004, I was a “hands-on” general contractor and I was actively involved in all aspects of residential construction. As a designer and a builder, I had to keep up-to-date in all the trades involved in this work: foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, siding, roofing etc. My specialties have been kitchen design, second story additions, whole house remodels, and new passive solar houses—-including composting toilets and wood foundations.
I currently sit on the Home Inspector Licensing Advisory Board of the State of Washington.
I am also on the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) technical review committee at the National level and serve as chair of the committee.
I am a Graduate of Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham, Wa., Residential Home Inspection Course (160 hours), and I am currently an instructor with this program. This course is currently approved by the State of Washington for Home Inspector Education as preparation for new inspector licensing.
I am a Member of ASHI, (American Society of Home Inspectors), Member #246514.
I am a Licensed Washington State Home Inspector, #220
I am a Licensed Structural Pest Inspector, WSDA #67488
